Buying a silver or gold chain

We stock a super selection of silver and gold chains all in a variety of styles, lengths and widths. You may be looking for a fine gold chain to pair with your favourite pendant - you can buy these in rose gold, yellow gold and white gold from the very thin and delicate to the slightly heavier and more sturdy. For something in a statement style to wear solo, we stock a fabulous gold Celtic knot chain, a good selection of rope chains in varying colours and widths, gold Figaro chains that always look fabulous on their own, and also a very attractive selection of anchor chain necklaces.

Our most popular gold chain is of course the curb chain necklace, and our Italian-made curbs vary from the discreet 2.2mm wide to the statement 8.2mm wide, with varying widths available in between. We stock curb chain necklaces in yellow gold, white gold and sterling silver and all are unisex items for men and women. Another popular chain style that we sell are our belcher chain necklaces - these are great for pendants and are also fabulous standalone items of neck wear. Our white gold belcher chain is perhaps the most popular, with our rose gold belcher coming close second.

What length chain should women buy? We find that most ladies are happiest with an 18 inch or 20 inch chain. Choose 16 inches for a necklace that you want to sit very closely around your neck. For a necklace to hold a pendant that you want to sit quite low, women should opt for a 22 inch chain.

We always recommend that men buy a chain that is at least 20 inches in length (regardless of their height), and for most men this will sit quite close to the neck. Taller men, or men with a bigger neck circumference, should opt for 22 inches or longer. You can buy our solid silver and gold chains up to 28 inches in length, though note there is an increased risk of the chain getting snagged and broken when you opt for a longer length.
